Hey guys, i have B18C5 in my eg hatch. the motor is starting to burn oil, and shooting a little amount of blue smoke. So i am going to rebuild the motor this winter. What do you suggest i replace? How far should i go in a basic rebuild? and while i am in there, is there anything else i should do? thanks Neil

 

new piston rings
all new seals, bearings(veal stems, blah blah)
head gasket
new head bolt
cams, cam gears, valve springs, Ti retainer,
bigger injector if you're going bigger cams.

optional: (going all out)

sleeve it and bore it out to 2.0L
and matching. crankshaft, connecting rod and new pistons
P&P head, racing valves

i might have missed some. but u get the idea

 

Neil... I'm sure your fully aware but theres quite a few of these threads lurking around H-T already. Be sure to take a look at those so nothing is overlooked and maybe use this as a spot for things you may have forgotten.

This of course is not ALL but going along with the first smalll list posted it may hlep. Only a few thigns that first come to mind:

Hone the cylinders
All gasket/seals/bearings
Oil pump
Water pump
Timing belt
Piston rings
Valve seals\Valve guides

Endyn crank breather.
