A-pipe rattle
My 94 GSR has had the classic A-pipe rattle for some time now, and I'm getting fed up. I searched and found a post that stated that the problem can be cured by a little welding at an exhaust shop. But what do I tell them to weld--will they need to remove the exhaust manifold to get at what needs fixing? I'd like to get the problem taken care of, but need to know what exactly to tell the folks at the place I take it to. Thanks.

Well I just got mine fixed today, it's sooooo nice to not have to hear that damn rattle. What they did was simply blast a 1/2" dia. hole in the side of both intermediate pipes (right before the collector) and then stick the welder in there and weld it up. Apparently it secures the inner pipe from moving around so it doesn't rattle. I payed $20 to have mine fixed this morning.

But as far as how they do it I dont know I put another stock A-pipe I bought from a guy here at h-t on it. But I do know they dont have to take the whole manifold off just the A-pipe its no prob to remove just 7 bolts.. replace mine in about 10 minutes with air tools and a lift.
