Default Any riteups for DIY 96-98 amber guages?

I may just be retarded but i have searched several times and cant come up with a DIY how-to for this done in a 96-98...I have seen the right up for the 92-95 and have done this to my friends 94 but they are obviously not the same dash. Thanks for any help!

Im sure there is something somewhere but i cant find it. Taking the dash out is not the problem, thats the easy part. I was going to just take it apart and figure out which bulbs came out, but wasnt sure of the numbers of the new bulbs.

Take the Cluster out........Pull out all the bulbs from the back of the cluster.......paint them whatever color you want. Thats basically how to do it......or just buy amber bulbs and replace.

you just have to experiment thats all......then you can make ur own write up if its more complicated then that

lol I fugured that much, but i didnt know what number the bulbs are. Not all of the bulbs come out either, I dont want to paint the CEL and the blinker bulbs, and so on, amber also.

The climate controle is the other part of it, i dont want those normal and the dash amber, with the 94 hatch i did it was kind of tricky to get everything out/back in for the climate, figured it would be easier if someone has already done it.

For the climate control:

LARGE AMBER BULB:
(2)79609-S02-A01 (FOR HEATER CONTROL PANEL)

SMALL AMBER BULBS:
(2) 35831-S2A-003 (FOR DEF. SWITCH & CRUISE)

Take silicone caps off of the above bulbs and place on the existing bulbs in the climate control and switches. DO NOT substitute bulbs, USE THE CORRECT ORIGINALS! The nice thing about these caps is that they will not fade.

I have not yet looked into which OEM Honda bulb caps will work on non-SI/CTR/SIR clusters because I swapped my cluster out, but given the offers I've received after changing over a few peoples CC's, I'll probably be looking into it.

If you have doubts about how this will turn out, I can post pics...

I need to get a hold of a scrap cluster, something that doesn't function but at least lights up so I can figure out which bulb caps to use.

Awesome, i would much rather have the rubber boots than to paint my bulbs for the stated reason of fading but i didnt know i could get my hands on them.

Waiting for the pic's

Thanks

Yep, I swapped in an SI cluster...for now.
I swear its not at all yellow in person, thats just the camera. I was trying to choose between two settings that would either capture too much light or not enough light. Since you can't really fine tune a Cybershot I ended up choosing the setting that resulted with what you see above

I did, so far i've only found a amber glass sidemarker bulb that will replace #8 in the below pic.

The problem is that honda clusters don't use a amber capped bulb in thier amber clusters, the actual guages are amber plastic with the painted white numerals on the painted black guage face. So far I haven't found a cap that is big enough to put on the mid-sized bulbs (#6's in pic) through honda, so im starting to look into bulb companies, maybe toyota/nissan parts, etc.
