just wanna double check on something here.. finally my 4spd trans broke on my 90 hatch. i have a 5spd to replace it but what i need to know is do i have to change my spindels in the front. cuz i know there are a differnece in axel sizes?? thanx

 

use the 4 speed axles, and you'll be fine.

the inner joints are all the same, its the outers on te 4spd hatches/crx hf's that are different.

i ran 4 speed axles with around 300 whp for a LONG time! haha

 

well then ima need to change them right or no?? cuz my hatch is a std that came wit the 4spd

 

no, you dont have to change them to swap to a 5 speed, you can, but you dont have to.

the inner joints (the ones that go into the trans) are the same as 5 speeds, not a problem.

if you want to upgrade brakes (DA/91 ex, etc) you need the 5 speed axles.

just to swap a tranny, you're fine with the 4 speed axles/hubs.
