I have 2 b18c1s that are both in pieces. One is a '94 and the other is a '95. Today while putting the '95 back together I noticed that it actually has a different factory oil cooler (the sandwich adapter) than the '94. The '95 has a shorter oil cooler and the center pipe/mount is also shorter to make up for this. In addition the mounting pipe does not have the spring insert thing in the center that the '94 does have. The '95 cooler looks to be about 1-1.5 cm shorter than the '94. Other than the shorter height and mounting pipe, their pipe locations, o-ring size, and everything else are exactly the same.
At first I didn't even notice a difference between the two, but I have a '94 FSM and when I was double-checking everything was in order before install it was then that I started noticing subtle differences.
Bizarre. Anyone else seen this? Searches turned up nothing in the past.
