Okay... I am running Hytech headers to a Hyper Medallion full exhaust on my B swapped EF. The Hyper Medallion exhaust follows the factory route to the rear bumper exaust cutout... that 90 degree bend is just not efficient.
I have saw a lot of EFs w/ custom routing... does any1 have any pics (from the bottom) to post of their setups? 1 option I am considering is a side exit (just in front of the pax side rear tire) like my buddy TOONZ is running in Atlanta.
I want to see what you guys have came up with.

The Buddy Club Spec II is the most effecient straight exahust made, it goes down the center of the car, but it doesnt have the final Z bend.
The disadvantage of it is that its crazy loud, but since you asked you must not care.
It exits from the passenger side. ill get you a picture of it, hold on.

^^ You don't have any problems w/ melting the bumper? I am thinking I may do it this way. Yours follows the factory route, but you basically eliminated the 90deg bend correct?
Also I think plumbing in a high flow resonator (THAT'S an oxymoron huh... LOL) might take care of the sound. Is it loud only in VTEC ranges?

thats not a pic of my car. i dont own it, ive heard it in videos. its insane loud. although that buddy club comes with a "silencer" whatever that means.
that model follows the factory until the back of the car, yes.
the trouble is finding a muffler to fit in such a tight spot, if you put a muffler back there its going to be pretty much touching the ground to get around the passenger side LCA

the video is glitchy, but this gives you an idea of how loud the spec II is.
notice how continually loud it stays despite the car going away down the road.

you better have a badge in your wallet to get caught at WOT with that exhaust on your car.... imho.
no cop is going to be foolish enough to think thats anyway street legal.

Hey,
I own a 91 crx sir, i have a 2.5" buddy club spec 3 pro, awesome exhaust, sounds sweet, it is actually for an EG civic hatch, all i did was modify a few mounting points and took about 10cm or so out of the exhaust and everything is sweet. no problem in the 90 degree bends and the exhaust fits fine in the rear plenty of room and does not scrape.
It sits on the drivers side, however as im from australia my drivers side is ur passengers side.

Damn! That does sound pretty gangsta! I think plumbing in a resonator will do the trick to make it not overkill. I wish it came across to the driver side bumper cutout though.
Here's a couple pics that will give you an idea of what I had done. It goes almost straight back, under the tank, then angles up, & out the stock location. It's 2 1/2" piping, resonated & has a thermal muffler. Sounds great & not too loud, except when I mash the throttle.

I'm probably going to part out my car & will be selling this exhaust if anyone is interested.

I like this idea but don't you scrape it over just about everything. Ive been planning a similar setup but with oval tubing under the gas tank.

I've had no scraping issues at all. The guy at the muffler shop that did this for me has a similar setup on his EG hatch using a 4" pipe (a little overkill as he knows) & he has very minor scraping issues. I have a special heat resistant/insulative material on the top of the pipe that runs under the tank to reduce the heat the gas tank is exposed to as a precaution, per his suggestion.

i agree, that buddy club sounds like ****, and its an annoying loud, and i like loud exhaust, but that would give me a headache in like 2 minutes.
Im also not a fan of the exhaust coming out on the passenger side. I mean theres a little cut out area on the drivers side made for the exhaust to exit out there, so why not use it?
If you really want a straight pipe, then just cut it off at the rear axle so you wont even see it when looking at the back of the car. You also wont get the "omfg look at that fart cannon, what a ricer" anytime u see someone with a 5 inch tip.

LOL. That's why I said it might sound decent if you plumb in a decent resonator.

You are describing what's known as a "turndown" in the v8 world.

QTP (Quick Time Performance) makes something like this for imports. You can have a side exit (in front of the front tire) for race, then close the valve (electronically from the cockpit) during normal driving to divert the exhaust through a factory exhaust.

actually the buddy club spec II is really loud with the b18's. I running one on my crx with a sohc zc and a omni test pipe. I haven't been bothered by the fuzz
alright well here is a video of mine.. doesnt show underbody but shows how loud and shitty it is really. (i didnt put it in). the video is horrible and idk how to change that.. photobucket like autosized it to 10X the size... you can seill see it at the end i believe.
if anyone has a better idea of what to upload it to, let me know. its .3gpp format.
