disconnect your dist plugs and try and start the car, then pull each spark plug and smell for fuel

you need to make sure your injectors are pulsing.

what info did you use for your mpfi, did you use obd1 injectors, and did you remove your resistor box?

i sniffed the spugs already when i turned over the crank to set to TDC. the injectors are shooting fuel so it's not that and i have an inline spark tester so i know it's not a problem with spark.

theres only so much it could be

spark? also is it firing in the right order

fuel? also is it firing in the right order

timing? double check your timing by setting the cam and crank and see if its aligned then pull the dist cap and see if the rotor is pointing to number 1 wire

compression, do a compression check

Not that I think you are an idiot but you did use an OBD1 distributor right? Just checking because I have come across some people who have that before not knowing that they are different from OBD0 to OBD1...

thanks for that link i'm going to check out my pins tomorrow even though i think they're all right. i made my own OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion harness so i was kind of iffy about my work but i've gone over the pins about 10 times but i'll double check.
