Default b16 wireing question

if i have a crx si witha stock d16a6 and im planning to swap it with a b16, the place with the b16 said the wiring harness is cut, i was wondering if i could cut the d16a6 wiring haness and attach it to the b16, will this work? or do i need to buy a whole new harness?

yes you will need to attach the a6 wiring to the b16. that is the only way to get the engine running. you will also need to add a vtec wire a oil pressure switch wire and a knock sensor wire to the ecu. easy really. and then a ground from the oil pressure switch to any ground area you want

AND DONT CUT YOU ORIGINAL HARNESS AT ALL.

no you will need to buy the wire for the wiring but it will come with the sensors i just mentioned that are on the engine. out of an integra. you could use the radiator hoses. throttle cable with braket on the intake mani. and the speed sensor or tranny if you want. i dident get a speed sesor with my tranny. and you can also use the speedo cable. and might need to.

The d16a6 harness can be modified to fit the b16 with no problems. All the sensors are the same from the a6 to the b16, but a few might need to be extended. You'll also need to add a couple extra wires for knock sensor, 2nd o2 sensor if you choose to use it (or tap it into the primary to trick the ecu--works fine), vtec spool valve, and the vtec oil pressure switch. Use a throttle cable from a 90-93 integra, and don't worry about the speed sensor...just remove it if you get a tranny with one and replace it with the cable drive unit from a 90-93 integra and use your original speedo cable. If you choose the more "JDM" approach and keep the speed sensor, you'll have to swap out the gauge cluster, run the speedo wires to it, and to the ecu as well or else you'll pop a cel for the vss and won't have any vtec fun.
