245/45/16 tires, anyone every try them on a 5th gen prelude?
i'm gunna go ahead and guess here... yes they will, but thats just a guess. Those are pretty beefy. why so big?
more grip
...that and the 225's I use now drop off from getting over cooked about 1/2 way into a race. I'm thinking of trying something bigger next year to see how it will work, and I saw that Toyo RA1's come in 245/45-16's so that got me thinking.
They even make a 255/50-16 but I think that would be way too tall. I would need a 5.1 FD to get back to the gearing I have now.

no they wont rub. I've had my car lowered more than 2" on my current 225's and i had no issues. This was with stock wheels too. Aftermarket wheels with a different offset....i dont know.

I saw your car at Summit Point this past weekend. I stopped by a few times but I didn't see the driver. I did see someone driving it though. Looked older. Possibly your dad? I thought I met you at the 2004 National Prelude Meet.

dude! ouch!! I was the only one to drive my car last weekend at summit. I'm only 31, but I am starting to get some gray hair (my family gets gray fast). I guess that better than loosing my hair.
and I was at the 2004 NPM, the one at Beaverun with the same car.

we have to use Toyo RA1 race tires in our class, so the sizes I can pick from are:
205/50/15 (they work, just not as good as the 225)
225/50/15 (they work good, but the 45's give better gearing)
225/45/15 (best size I have used so far, but I would love to try something wider)
245/45/16 (?? not sure they will fit)
255/50/16 (?? not sure they will fit pluss I'm 90% sure they would be too tall)
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had tried a tire this fat on their prelude.
