Default V-tec Not sounding like it should

Can heat soak effect how loud v-tec cracks? My S2K use to crack so loud when i first put my toda header, test pipe, and Apexi n1 on with the stock airbox, but after awhile it wasnt cracking half as loud as it was. I had a ARC airbox and chamber on there for 2 minutes then i took it off you guys are right that thing does suck. My engine bay gets so hot cause of the header i just wanted to know what your guys thoughts were on this. If any of you want that ARC set up ill sell it for cheap?

Check your oil level, you could be low enough that Vtec may not be engaging at times.
