96 accord lx auto 164k

everytime i'm driving especially around the city, when i about to come to a stop for a redlight, stop sign, etc, a lot of the time the rpm drops down to zero, the car turns off, and i have to start it up again. its fine if i don't have to come to a stop, it drives normally.

i recently did a tune up hoping the issue would be resolved, new plugs, dist cap/rotor, new valve cover gasket/gromet (was leaking badly).

what could be the issue??

 

fuel filter, maybe?

 

im having a problem with my idle as well...but mine does not die. People said to check your IACV. THis controls the idle. You might need to clean it up.
