Well if you were expecting anything more than 250whp with an N/A set up you fooled yourself. If you wanted power you should have gone Turbo. And thats not just for Preludes, its for any 4 cylinder.

you must not have picked parts that work well together.

x2

building a good na motor is not just spending a shitload of $$ to get the best of each part. best part A + best part B is not always the best build. You just have to make a verry good research and buy the right parts.

I'm trying to find that old vid with the omniman building that b16 and trying to explain some parts of the build but i can't find it anywhere. That could b a good example.

NA Preludes arn't fast. Especially for the amount of cash you dump into them.

How much power did you make, on and off the bottle?

well ive put the pig on a diet its lighter than a stock civic, i took both front rear bumpers out .. cut the floor sill out of the trunk and put in bracer bars, rear mylar window, and gutted interior except dash and 2 seats.... yet to be dyno tuned... i live 500 miles from the closest tuner... and i am taking that into account im not expecting to be blazin fast but i should not have a problem with an sti on the bottle

A 125 shot should ensure that you're moving pretty good when you're squeezing.

Well, don't totally lose hope until after you're tuned and you get some dyno numbers. Then you can whine all you want

A built bottom end + crower 4's + a rmf header should get you some nice results.

Yeah that can be disappointing but you should wait till you get it tuned..

And was that race with the spray or no spray?

A bone stock STI will run very low 13s. It would take a monster N/A set up to get to those numbers with a Prelude.

The main thing here is: YOU ARE NOT TUNNED!

We have no idea what numbers you a putting out, you problably have another 30-50 whp to gain after tunning. You could be running sh1tty numbers due to bad ignition/fuel. You will never know until you get the lude on a dyno.

Get it dynoed first, get some horsepower/torque numbers. Then we go from there.

Doing all that work on the car and not having it tunned is like having sex for 3 hours and not busting a nut, you miss the best part.

Do you even know what your AFs are like? Are you completely untuned?

I'd be a bit scared driving a non-stock displacement and compression car around with no tuning. With aftermarket injectors. And spraying? I hope your engine is holding up...

Here is a list of Hondata dealers.

Maybe you could find someone close to you to tune your car using the Hondata.

Chillin' man. Decided to pay the prelude section a visit. I now got a Civic with a K20R motor, but still got love for the preludes With H-Deuce's

I dont believe that, they're comparable to RSX's in stock form. A built prelude could get into 12s with a good NA setup and right sized slicks.

From messing around wtih cars long enough, the most important part to a build is a tune. Running around a car on a base map is a no no, especially with a fresh motor. I brand new motor with 0 miles should ONLY be broken in on the dyno.

for real man, your complaining about your motor and you havent even synched everything together. No wonder you hate it and think its slow.

And honestly i think its pretty stupid of you to be racing around with it, not to mention spraying on it. You've got yourself one hell of a build but how large of a cam are we talking? Your cam and compression choice may not be working well with each other.

And a naturally aspirated lude can be fast. It just requires alot more than engine work to get there. Suspension, slicks, slick size, weight loss.....

You want my honest, most sincere advice? You should sell the car. If not, you are going to be in the same boat again as you are right now.

Too many of you guys expect waaaay too much out of the Prelude. Guys, it's a nice fun car, but once you start mutating it into something it was never meant to be, you WILL be disappointed!!!

Do what I did. I wanted a fast, powerful car......so I left my Prelude alone and bought another car. I have NO REGRETS!!! I get to keep my Prelude the way it is meant to be....NA!!! It's not going to beat most cars in straightline races....but I accept that and I don't expect it to. It is what it is.....and that's what I love about it.

Get another car! Partout your current car and use the money to buy/build another car, preferably one that is RWD/AWD and comes with a turboed engine from the factory. You will have fun and not be as disappointed as you are now. I know this might not be the advice you want to hear but it is what you need to do, based on your goals, to be happy.

yea, you really need to get it tuned, I'm sure you're missing out on alot of power, I wouldn't say it is a total waste just yet, first you need to tune it, also consider all the knowledge you have gained building and researching
