b16 swap
i need your guys opinion. On hmotorsonline they have the complete changeover for 1499 and the other thats just ecu tranny n motor 1250. Is it worth getting the complete changeover or should i just spend 1250 and buy the axles, shift linkage and mounts seperate? And would any of you know how much you think shipping would be to Alaska 99615? thanks.
Get the complete change over, it's not worth getting anything else. I did that over 4.5years ago, and never looked back, and my b16 is running great still... Shipping will be a little more than for the lower 48states, $500-$650 for shipping.
After looking on hmotorsonline.com I see they have two b16a's
1 of them is just 649 bucks, and says its a long block while the other costs 1250. Which would I want. They are both showing the same "160Hp 111Trq 10.2 Compression".
Would the long block not fit in a crx? Why is it so much cheaper?

Because the Long Block is just the motor. No tranny, distributor, or ecu. Also, most long blocks are from automatic cars (integra x-si auto's and such), so you'd probably need to get a flywheel and flywheel bolts as well. Also auto b16's have smaller cams in them, as well as only single valve springs as compared to the dual springs on the intake sides of manual trans b16's.

you'll need some motor mounts since the ones that come with it won't work. You have a lot of options, Hasport, Avid, etc. You'll also need to do some wiring or buy a subharness to connect VTEC solenoid, VTEC pressure switch, knock sensor, and the 2nd O2. I believe you'll also need to modify your shift linkage to fit or shorten the one that the engine will come with if its out of an XSI integra.
about $2400 for motor, tranny, ecu, axels, mounts, wiring, shift linkage and shipping.
plus
clutch
water pump
timing belt
tensioner
plugs
wires
distributor
intake

haha with a bunch of extra parts you don't need 3,286.09 + some taxes according to Ryans write-up

And here's your how-to.
Get the complete swap from H-Motors. You never know what will be missing when you're buying just an engine. Besides that, H-motors is guaranteed. We've had engines replaced by them per their damage/return policy. They're the only way to go - you don't want to risk losing all that money on a bad engine.
