changing drum brakes is it complicated?
ok I am i desperate need of new brake shoes for my rear drums! I have cahnged pads plenty of times but never messed with the back "shoes". I am going to try and get this finished ASAP. so any advice would help.
I have a Haynes manual but I was just wondering if there is any tricks involved that is mot mentioned in the book. THX in advance.

IF you have the proper tools-it is actually easier than it looks. You should have the tool to remove and reinstall the big springs and there is another one for the ones that are on the pins that go thru the backing plate. Make sure that you have the correct shoe on each side of the wheel cylinder-just match up <G>. Use a tiny amount of white Lithium grease on the raised pads on the backing plate and all will be good. Final thing is to adjust them-I really cannot explain this one-just make them so that they are a close fit to the diameter of the drum. Hope this helps
