obd0 to obd1.. i got code 9 after conversion..
i have a sohc zc vtec , running a p28 ecu.
i hella notice the hp gain after the conversion but
i been running my car for months now with this code 9.
runs fine and all but i just want to get rid of this code..
i tryed replacing the dizzy.... and also rewiring my obd0
plug to my dizzy. all i think is left is the ecu... its a p28
ecu but its an automatic one.. i just did the manual conversion
for it too.. (remove one of the resistors and soldering the other one)
anyone have any thoughts out on my problem... think its cuz the
ecu? i know code9 is the cyp no. 1 cylinder postion but i read that
someone put on one of the searches its code9 = rev max 7500 plus no vtec..
is this true???
and my car does redline at 7500 and i cant notice the vtec engaging either...
i also thought i didnt feel the vtec kick becuz its a single and it wouldnt
really feel it...
but since i read this today... maybe its true...
so any ideas would help...imma try and find someone with a good
working manual p28.. thanks

Are all of your added wires shielded? I ran into an issue with my OBD-1 distributor wiring that if it wasn't shielded, it would throw a code 9 and eternally **** me off.
go through the troubleshooting steps:
http://www.norcalcrx.org/library/
CRX workshop manual. Look it up, seriously.
CYP is C1 and C2 at your ECU. Blue/Green and Blue/Yellow at your distributor.
Use a volt meter and continuity check these 2 wires from start (ecu) to finish (dizzy).
If you don't understand what I just said
read more, or call a mechanic.

yeah i have the same thing, the only symptom is that your car when its cold wont start as fast, as if you wouldn't have that check engine light.
Its an extra sensor in the distributor that only the hf and si have.
I replaced my dizzy too and still have that problem, i think it could be somewhere
in the wiring or maybe the ecu itself.
By the way im running a sohc zc non-vtec. With the stock PM6 si ecu.
But other wise the car has no other consequenses. Everything works fine.

naw my car starts up and everything..
no problems... but code is always on..
when i had it to obd0 i ran a pg7 ecu
and hf dizzy and i never got any codes.
only after i converted to obd1.

so does it have to be shielded internally too???
cuz all i did was i got an old obd0 dizzy plug
and solder it to an obd1 dizzy plug...
like the ones rywire sells.
i just made it myself..
