why does only reverse gear backfire and stall?
hey guys....first off im new...been a honda owner for a very long time... but i just bought my very first Honda CRX 2days ago and im very impressed with the weight difference...now i know what everyone is talkin bout...but yea i just have one question for now...
i have a 88Hf and the car is pretty good overall...5 speed manual transmission...all gears work good from 1 to 5...but once i slap it into reverse...the car starts to lag and if i gas it itll backfire...itll still go but it does those things..has anyone had this problem and even know how to fix it? thanks guys....hope to get to learn more...

yeah i know what you're talking about,The HF models have a reverse light wire ran to the ecu at pin B9 ..Is the car all stock or does it have a swap?
wow! that was the fastest response i got in any forum! haha thanks bro...but yea ...its not stock...my 88 HF has a JDM B16a complete swap in there...when i bought it ...it already had it and the tranny is holding a 6 puck clutch in there...very hard to drive as well but good on grabbing...hope thats alot of information...oh yea it came with a chipped ecu too...please let me know what i can do to stop this....its pretty much embarassing when the reverse gear does that...
dood u guys are the best....if i knew u guys in person...i would definitely pay for drinks...haha but yea...im sorry if im new at this...but what exactly and where can i find this B9 at? on my ECU? how do i find it and clip it? if u guys can show me step by step..i would truely appreciate it?

pull the carpet back you'll see the ecu cover, remove it..
and you'll have this in front of youhttp://fourthgenhatch.net/phot...n.jpg
notice the wires running to it in electrical tape..They are into 3 ecu clips..Theres a b and c..using the diagram bob posted its obvious to see what one is B....Just pull out ecu clip B and hold it up like the digram and find pin B9,,then cut the wire and tape it,

Pull back the passenger side carpet
Unbolt the ECU if it has bolts holding it down
Unplug the plugs going into it
Identify the B plug (see diagram)
Find plug B9 (see diagram)
Cut it off, or put a jewlers screwdriver into the slot under the pin and press up twards the pin (going in from the non-wire side) and pull the wire out. Can be tricky, cutting it is probably your best bet.
