I noticed hat Skunk2 has High Compression Intake and Exhaust valves (plus .3 to.5 points).

Does anybody know anything about these valves and, especially, what are the downsides?

valves can change compression? someone please explain if possible.

figure it out... the combustion chamber volume in relation to compression ratio

 

The only way I could imagine that working is if the valves have more material on the underside, thus reducing combustion chamber volume and increasing compression. I would also assume that this would add weight to the valves and could possibly interfere with the flow of cylinder gasses. IMO there are much better ways to increase compression.

 

They are flat on bottom instead of dimpled(sp?)... as in the pic below linked from the Endyn site from a year ago or so...

Stock vs Endyn/Skunk/whoever else is selling them...

yeah.. the high comp valves are for n/a i want some of the special turbo valves that build boost

 

Looks like SuperTech's valves, I'll be trying out a set soon.
