Who has a JD2 Model 3 Tubing Bender?
I'm looking at getting one of these tubing benders and was wondering how it works for others. I'm mainly going to be bending 1" chromoly tubing and square aluminum tube. So does anyone have one of these tubing benders? Are you able to get tight radius, repeatable, wrinkly free bends with Aluminum, chromoly or stainless?
And for those who don't know the model:
http://www.jd2.com/ its the model 3

Also, if anyone has reccomendations on another bender I'd like hear them.
Thanks.

I have had one of these for years , and really like it. I used it "on the ratchet" for a few years and converted it to hydraulic about a year ago.. I have always had good luck with it..
We have one, works great! Here is a pic of a rollbar we made using the JD2 Model 3 to get an idea of what the bends look like. This was 4130 1.625"x.083".

Whats the tightest radius bend you made? Also do you notice any difference between bending mild steel and chromoly?

I have a bender identical to that one, but made by pro tools. I used it to bend a 1.5 inch x 0.93 Chromemoly roll cage. I used a 6" radius die, and it was a little bit tight. only wrinkled a bit. if it was really cold outside. all in all a good machine.
