urgent: Brake Pedal goes to the floor, bleed maybe?
hey all, Ive got a 91 crx si with 4 wheel disc. Recently there was a fluid leak from the rear right caliper, and ive since replaced it. Now that I am trying to bleed the system something is going horrible wrong. I get the driver to pump the pedal 4 times and hold the last pump. I crack the bleeder and tons of bubbles come out, then I close the bleeder and repeat until there is no bubbles. The car has good grab on that wheel for about 5 minutes, but then the pedal goes straight to the floor. I do not understand what is being done wrong. can anyone help me?
Are you just bleeding that brake? if so it won't work. Go thru and bleed the whole system. And do it in the right order. Do RR then LF then LR and RF and make sure you keep refilling the reservoir. That will fix it.
I thought you were suppost to start from the furthest wheel from MC and and work your way closer. Pasanger side rear, Driver rear, Passanger side front, then driver side front. I could be wrong but thats the way ive always done it

Dude your not rotating old bias ply tires here
You go farthest to the closet when bleeding brakes;rr,lr,rf,lf.Plus since there was a leak in the system there most likely is air in the master cylinder itself.

that works on a chevy and a ford, but not on a honda. weird as **** i know.. but if you to it that old fashioned way, you will never get a true bleed of your brakes.

If you bleed ALL the air out and the pedal still hits the floor your master cylinder might have taken a shat on you. But due to the leak and recent work you've done on the system I believe this is not the case here.
YEAHHH, it was just extra air in the brake system. FYI it was on an ae86 rwd and I didn't want to say that or people wouldn't even bat an eye
