***Some Good News***
As of January 1st 2008, there will be no more emissions testing on any vehicle built prior to 12/95. This is to take affect on 1/1/2008, in all states. This should put alot of smiles on people's faces...
I hope it doesnt happen in California. Even though i have a JDM powered lude, i cant imagine what would happen around here if they let 30% of the cars in the state run around with more carbon than coal factory crapping out of the back of the car. Because if they let that happen all the ricers around town are going to get the loudest coffee can they can find on their car.

from the environmentalist in me, I agree with you. But I'm still excited. I am registered in GA so I have to have emissions. Once this goes into effect, bye-bye cat

yeah really do you have any source to confirm this? this would be incredible if it was true but i highllyyy doubt it is. theres no way any politician criminals would endorse this because all the stupid soccer moms would vote them out of office
I read a test somewhere in a magazine about testing catted, to high flow, to no cat, and deleting you cat only makes 3-4 hp on a basic setup. If you aren't fully built turbo or n/a racing, i don't really see the point of deleting your cat.. for how much you gain in the butt dyno, your really letting a LOT of bad **** into the air...
seriously link us with where you found that information. i wonder b/c the date of 12/95 would make sense b/c obd2 in 96+, but then what about the higher model cars that switched over to odb2 in like 94 and stuff. obd2 was just mandatory in 96 other companies went to it sooner so what about them? they would be able to dodge emissions when thats one of the reasons the gov made companies mandate obd2 in their cars. i need to see a link ending in .gov to trust that

for 3 hp its not worth it imo either, but in my case, i would guess something like 50 whp and worse spool times for 2.25" cat vs strait 4", which is what im about to switch too

The problem is that they may stop emissions testing but to counter it many states may make a visual inspection that fails cars that do not have original emissions equipment. Just something to consider.
