Any lude owners driven an R
I have a chance to buy a type R for 6500 bucks. Its a freaking great deal but im just wondering anyone on here driven one that has an h22 lude? how would u say they compare. I love how hard my lude pulls when i hit vtec and i just dropped an lsd tranny in it so i kinda dont want to let it go, but this R is too good to pass up.

depends on the condition. And i would only buy it if it were completely stock and it wasnt driven by a teenager.
good condition + stock then yes. I would love to have a type R over my lude.

They are a great track car "right out of the box" and they're much lighter than a Lude.
With work I feel the Prelude can grip a little more road and definetly make more power, but with the R at least you don't really have to worry about to many other moded cars comparing on the road.
And about theft, yeah my buddy was paranoid every night that he brought it out. Some people just plain "hate". He's had his window broken for no reason.

thats why i love my lude, the red head step child of honda, and fewer people own them rather than an em1 or even a Hype arrgh!!!

This example is ragged. Repaired damage and some bad bodywork in the passenger rear quarter and hood.

Just remember do what you want, not what other people think you should do....and I just hate integras they're horrible, I will never drive one. Even if I got a type r for free I would sell it, call me stupid, dumb, what ever you want I don't care
i wouldnt recomend on the R just for the theft fact. i bought an Si had it for 7 months, swiped right out of my drive way the 1 out of 3 nights i left it out of my garage. y own a car when ur sweating it'll b stolen all the time. i'd love to have another Si but not if the theft rates stay the same.
type r's aren't that great, they're fast up to 60 or 70 with that close ration box but after that they're wheezing. plus inside them is ****, as if the titanium gear **** makes up for the distinct lack of style inside it. that said, they will **** all over a prelude on a track but then how often do you drive on a race track? i would keep the prelude and dump some money on the H22 and some chassis parts.
kill switch is only so good, especially with an R. u put a switch on the fuel pump they'll just jump out the switch. u better have a garage to have it locked up in.
I wouldnt want to give up my torque for the type r.

And I am pretty sure there is a couple of videos of a prelude whoring DC5's AND DC2's on the track somewhere here on HT.
prelude = better cornering auto-x cars.
tegs, civics = better straight line cars.
depends on what you want.

i don't know about all that, the lack of many preludes in honda challenge and the dominance of civic/integras in the series goes against that notion.

sorry but on a track a type r integra will dispose of a prelude, unless the guy driving the teg is an idiot. prelude might take it straight line but on a track there isn't a chance, go weigh the numbers up, almost same power as the prelude but far lighter with purpose designed suspension, it might have a torque deficit but it doesn't need torque because it weighs nothing
If, like me, you hit your head on the ceiling from time to time in the 'Lude, you'll have to drive with your head out the sunroof on the Type-R for sure. That's what turned me away from the 'Teg years ago.
