Snow tire sizing how much smaller is it safe to go, where to draw the line?
I have a 2006 Accord EX with stock 205-60-r16 Tires.
I found a nice deal on 4 new 195-65-r15 Tires.
Is this too far off? Is it unsafe? I commute 40 miles each way on the highway everyday. I was thinking downsizing to 205-70-r15s if I went down to 15" steelies and snows.
But these four 195-65-r15s are at a great deal, almost can not pass it up.
Hopefully the link works that compares the ratios etc.

The only issue with going to 15 inch wheels on that car is the brakes. Depending on the offset of the wheel you may not be able to clear the caliper. It would be best to test fit a similar wheel first.
First place I'd look is the most basic version of your car. So what does the 2006 Accord DX come with? And then find out whether the brakes are any different. I probably wouldn't want to go any smaller than the most basic version of the same car.
So just for example... say the brakes haven't gotten any bigger since my 2003 Accord LX. That car came with 15" wheels, 205/65-15 tires. Your EX would have rear disks which aren't usually very big. I'm guessing the front brakes are the same.
I think the '03 Accord DX came with 195/65-15 tires, so as far as your car being about the same size & weight, that should be OK. Same generation, different year, but probably about the same.
Having said all that, you want to be aware of the difference in outside tread diameter, for speedometer/odometer reading. Look it up yourself, but it's probably pretty close.
