Default What should I do to my 5th gen?

I was planning on getting a new car, but I have only had my 95 Accord for a year now, and I am thinking of just keeping it. It only has 126k Miles on it, and still runs pretty strong.

I want to make it a little faster, but don't want to rice it out with a fart can or anything, I plan on spending under 1k-ish, what should I do?

The engine and everything is stock, I just had a tune up a little bit ago, and replaced all the wiring and such.

I was thinking maybe a nice intake, but possible some new headers // exaust setup?

What do you guys think?

there is no such thing as a nice intake. they are all the same the aem v2 is a big waste of money etc. just get a generic intake and buy a k&n. header get a megan racing...cheap *** stuff and just as good as dc and greddy....check out their website. all of them are **** anyway but megan has the better of the shitty ones. i suggest greddy exhaust just because of the sound. keep it small with 2 1/4in piping. you dont have much power so there is no need for something with anything bigger.

but if i were you because those mods on the f22 are pointless. youre not going to get much power out of that. save you money to get something worth while...such as h22 or h22 head and put it no the f22 with some high comp pistons.

Yeah that is what I heard, so the eBay short rams are pretty much the same as the AEM ones, they just have a sticker on them?

Should I get Shortram or CAI? I live in AZ, it rarley rains, but when it does, its bad.

And also, with the headers and exaust, how pricey would that be? I am assuming labor will be a BITCH. I was considering an engine swap. How much would that run me?

i would just get custom exaust. its not that much. just find a nice muffler and you are set. i got a high flow magnaflow cat and 2.5 inch exaust from cat to the muffler for 200. its not that much to get custom. takes them maybe 30 min all together to put on your car.

there isnt that much diff between the cold air and the short ram your intake mani is really hot so the air is going to be hot anyway.

megan racing header - 180
greddy exhaust is about 400-700 depending on what you get if i remember right
you can install both of these if you have jack stands, jack and simple hand tools.

engine swap for h22 - 2500 not including install...i did mine myself but i dont know if you want to dive into that.

but you could get an h22 head for 300-400 and have someone install it on the f22 with some 11.5:1 compression pistons and have a good time. pistons are about 500, head gasket 100, rings 125.

A CAI is good if you dont live where it rains all the time, then a short ram should do it. And yeah, I good intake consists of a decent filter k&N perhaps, and a pipe. No need to buy an expensive-branded intake.

A custom made header; yeah, theyre expensive but if you want performance and keep it N/A thats the only way to go. And of course, a 2.5 inch exhaust.

All this is going to be a lil over the 1k you have decided to spend, though.

How much of an increase would I see with new headers and exaust? I don't want the fart can sound, I want a nice deep, not too loud sound.

Where would I go to find some custom work? I live in AZ, not sure where to look..google?

Umm I would stay away from parts on eBay because there are most likely a defects on the parts. My friends experienced this. The only good thing ebay is good for our cars are accessories for our cars (spoilers, seats, etc).

So I should get a new intake, those megan headers, and a full exaust setup? So how much power gains can I expect? And you guys said I should stick with 2.5 inch exaust?

I just notcied, those headers are for EX only. I have a LX.

I checked some sound clips of the evo 2, its a little loud, but not bad!

I think I am going to start with a new intake and the megan headers. Anything else I should get?

Other than working on the cars performance, you can get yourself a new CD deck if you havent already.

Get your throttle body bored and B&B your fuel injectors too, if you do intake and exhaust.

I'm sorry you will not see 20whp from headers and exhaust. The f22b2 which is what he has doesn't respond well enough to drop the 200 on headers alone. Just find an f22b1 header (from an accord EX) it's just as good as a DC Sports header and if you find it at a junkyard you'll only pay like $10. Intake get a k$n filter and just buy a generic ebay CAI and use the piping from that and put the K$N on it. Exhaust is kinda up to you.

Tint job? $200 or less
Interior Detail Service? (works wonders) $200 (guessing)
Ebay OEM Style Fogs? $40
EX Headers $10
maybe exhaust $xxx
Stock Honda Alloy wheels? $xxx

Thats funny that you posted that, I heard the EX headers are really good ones, I might have to hit up a junkyard, will all 5th Gen honda ex headers fit my 95 LX?

I already have limo tint all the way around..

I DEEP CLEANED my interior last weekend, I took all the carpet out and cleaned EVERYTHING.

I was thinking of some Fogs, I would never use them though, they would be just for looks I suppose, there is no fog in AZ

I am still running my black steelies, I just got new tires, so putting 1k into new rims and tires would be pointless..

Thanks for the hlep.
