Default Accord tranny vs. Prelude tranny?

What would be the pros and cons of Swapping the H22 into an accord while utilizing the stock accord transmission?
If it has longer gears, wouldn't this improve gas mileage?
Thank you for your responses.

The transmission of the accord has longer gears, so it gets better gas mileage, when causing a bit slower take off. But the tranny gives back when you consider the potential of a better top end.
The tranny of the prelude, with its smaller gears, can give you quicker take off, a less time between shifts..... the downsides is a slight difference between mileage per gas tank and lower top speed.

If you swap an H22 but keep the F-series tranny, you will be sorely disappointed. Worrying about top speed is pointless in this situation, IMO, as you'll never reach those theoretical speeds on the track. If someone's trying to reach their top speed on a highway, than they'd be better off keeping the stock motor so there's less chance of them killing themselves/someone.

Bottom line, if you're going to swap an H22 into your Accord, swap the tranny too. You'll kick yourself in the *** later on if you don't.

If you Do get the prelude tranny make sure you get either the M2Z4 (5gen) or M2B4 (4gen), LSD ftw!

Gear ratios:

M2B4 - 3.307 - 1.950 - 1.360 - 1.071 - 0.787 - 4.266
M2Z4 - 3.285 - 1.956 - 1.344 - 1.034 - 0.812 - 4.266

something I forgot to mention; both of the LSD trannies listed above are JDM version.

M2Y4 - USDM 5G Base
M2Y4 - 3.285 - 1.956 - 1.344 - 1.034 - 0.812 - 4.266

no sh-t, get the jdm LSD trans while you doing the swap, it's only a tad more and whole lot of fun later on.

unless you are boosting the h22, don't use the accord gear

i personally like the 1995 accord ex tranny.
shorter gears than a dx/lx and you still get good gas milage

You guys think there would be any major problems if I swap my F22B1's auto transmission for the M2Z4? I plan to get the motor later on, I'm just sick of my automatic.
