nut wont budge. - adding lowering springs
there is this nut in behind the rotors, connected to the coilover. im trying to take the whole coilover suspension off to add the springs. the nut wont come off. what lbs. torque wrench do you think i could use to take it off or is it not possible and i need an air compressor with the gun?

dont use a torque wrench to take things off....use a breaker bar and a steel pipe....or if you're like me, an impact gun + air compressor

If you're not man enough to get it off with a boxed/open ended wrench or even a ratchet, get a breaker bar.
Torque wrenches are for tightening nuts, bolts, etc to a specific point.

yea. i was wondering about the impact gun and the air compressor. how much would it cost to get a decent set. or how many gallons of air or hps would i need to atleast take the nut off. i see sears selling these for like 150-200 bucks. are those strong enough?they have like 1hp with 12 gallons of air. or 1.5hp with 15 gallons.
I heard of using this method from a friend if you are using a impact. Tighten the bolt, then loosen, tighten, loosen until it becomes loose. Supposedly it helps and will prevent your bolt will from getting stripped.
i had the same problem as you when i did my rear suspension, unfortunatley i ended up snapping the bolt and had to drill my *** off for a long time. if you use the breaker bar just be careful and try to not snap the head of the bolt off. hope you have better luck than i did

I know sears sells a battery imapct wrench that throws about 100 ft lb of torque or somthing like that. It's close to 300 but it battery pack powered. But if you want to buy a compressor and gun, it is a little cheaper
so about the question i asked up there. does it matter what gallons of air or hp it has to be, for the air compressor?
The more air the better, it will give your gun contant power if you are using the gun constantly. But anything more than 5 gallons is good enough
ahhh deleted my post!
use air tools for sure. anything that'll get 100psi will work (i usually run it up to 120) use a real impact too. on past experience, 3/8s will pretty much waste your time...i usually break out my 1/2....just gotta be careful with it.

Ingersoll-Rand titanium 2135QTi (quiet model) ftw! Great great impact wrench that many others will vouch for.
and a 30+ gallon tank, oil drive, heck, just get an 80 gallon tank and stuff 'er in the corner. Might need 240v though. And get a refrigerated air dryer; moisture free air for your tires and paint jobs! ok ok thats not all necessary but it'd be nice.

did you try tapping the nut with a hammer? Shock the threads and maybe it will come off easier. I do it all the time as a machine tech.
It is not at all uncommon for the lower bolt to rust in the bushing sleeve then you just end up braking the bolt head off. Be prepared with new bolts ready to go there only a few $ from honda. Oh yeah make sure you are working on the right end of the bolt most of the shocks have the nut welded to them
