Dunno. Get a bucket, put in hot water and a ton of Dawn. Use one of those green scrub pads. They are pretty abrasive. I cleaned my old pistons with them and it worked great. Elbow Grease!

You'll want to bore and re-hone your cylinders to fit the piston no matter what you do.

Just leave them in a tub of WD-40, it works for me.

Only two ways:
By the book: Get a "piston scaper"
Or Average Joe: Scotch Brite pad and some elbow grease. I promise it won't come off by looking at it! Some companies even make scotch brite on for an end grinder.

Oven cleaner or paint stripper/gasket remover will take off all the carbon and leave the aluminum untouched.

wow, you should put down the sandpaper, fill your bathtub full of water, and go drown your self. you NEVER use sandpaper to clean a piston. Waste of sperm

Furthermore, didn't you have another post asking if you should buy those pistons/if they will work in your engine, and everybody said they wouldent w/o having the block bored out...

I used oven cleaner and it worked great, but my pistons were for display only. Maby seafoam? Its carbon, and seafom dissolves carbon.

If you want higher compression don't clean that carbon off

I used some acietone(sp?) and scotchbrite pad...seafoam may work too but its just petolium so save the cash and ge some gas instead or WD-40 all will work

You're being perfectly fine. People on here trying to be tough and yelling "owned!" and gay **** like that are ruining the thread.
