I just put HIDs (8000k) in my em1 with stock headlights....its pretty damn bright i aint been pulled yet and i have had only one person flash me with their brights my friends say when im following them its pretty bright but not insane.....oh and another thing you can keep your stock headlights and get glare shields or do a retrofit...i guess i wanna do one of those someday.

Imma get hids soon. who cares if you blind them, my car isnt even that low and i have to move to the side not to get blinded by people who are behind me, and either way, i get blind when people are in front of me too.

but i did hear plastic is better than glass for HIDS... i heard good things about the TYC onepiece headlight.

For the '92-'95 Civic, one of the best solutions would be to purchase a set of one-piece HID projector headlights made by TYC. They bolt on and are DOT legal.

If you want to go the plug n play route I'd say get projector headlights first. The reason is the projector has a cut off shield to keep unwanted glare from blinding people, this is also the best way to controll the hid output. Halogen headlamp units can't handle the hid as well as if you don't get the glare shields you are shooting light all over the place. While the projector headlights are halogen projectors they handle and controll the light LOADS better than a reflector assembly, plus you get seaperated high n low so you can save money on a moving hid bulb (which is prone to failure) or the cheapo units with a lil halogen bulb for the high beam (and god only know how hard/impossible it is to find and replace that lil bulb, as well as the unit still has no glare shield).
I'm currently runnin h3 pnp hid in my projector units and beyond my units have the ion tinting (have a light purple ting to them, causes the light to yellow) and having 4000k over say 4300k (OEM temp) or 5000k (a bit whiter). The only issues is the fact that the driver side lense is a tweeked but my lights are bright (yellowish tho ) and the output has a nice cut off, I've had nobody flash me and no cop attention.

If you search Google or eBay for "Civic TYC HID", you'll find them.

I am using the jdm stanley head lights with 06 nissan altima HID's. They fit just fin, all i needed to do was machine the bracket that holds the stock bulb in place, so you can fit it around the HID bulb. Those wire locks that hold the stock bulbs in place wont work and i still have not found a permanent solution, but for now they are cleanly duct taped...lol...

Why didn't you just use casper shields?

Duct tape? Seriously?

Casper shields suck, IMO. I bought a set for my EJ and then I got the gayDM stanley lights. Had to epoxy the shields in place cause the JDM ones have a diff buld than the USDM. The light shines up too high. I have tried to redo them 3 times with the same outcome. Might be me but I am gonna get a set of projectors from a IS300 to solve this problem.

I'd still rather use crappy caspers than duct tape lol ....

that is true. THe shields have epoxy holding them, then I modified the retainer clip to hold the bulb in. Not gonna glue that in. they shields were only 58 bucks shipped. And have heard that they are making shieds to fit them in JDM housings, but have not confirmed that yet.

Yea those are retrofitted TYC's, they aren't directly produced by TYC thus is why most sellers also include a new washer bottle.

Interesting. I had seen the same setup on various websites, each indicating DOT compliance, so I had assumed it was a factory product.

since when do is300's come with projectors?
also common sense would tell you if an h4 is diff. from an h4h and a casper shield replaces an h4 then its not gonna be correct for an h4h. dee de dee!
