Default Light Bulbs??

This may be a stupid question but I am wondering if I can just change my lightbulbs for something brighter without any other modification? Can I just purchase the Nighthawk's from the local automotive store and pop them in? I know it is probably a long shot but I am curious if it is possible. I do plan on doing a full HID light conversion but not right now where I am doing suspension and exhaust.

Any help is appreciated ...

Get nighthawks. They ****** rock.

Don't get hids. They're not made for your car.

Read the Automotive Lighting, Color, and You sticky.

I have only seen HIDs being installed, as far as I could see the entire wire system is in the kit with amps and other relays and controllers, it looks like there was no way to melt wires on the cars original harness, maybe you have seen crappy sets, this one kit was over $300.

I don't care about wiring. You really must not understand how hids work if you think I mean you're going to melt wires .... that and calling a ballast and amp.

HID's suck in civics because they're not made for our cars. The reflector housing on a civic is designed for a dual-filament halogen bulb, not a single-core hallide lamp. Even with casper shields and whatnot, you still have odd cuttof and side glare.

Are ther a set of housings for a Del Sol that would work with the HID's? Maybe a Black set with crystal clear housing? like this one here? Or should I just stick with Halogen bulbs? I read that guide but it was information overload. I am not a physicists by any stretch of the imagination ...

Here are the housings I am talking about ... Something like this maybe?

HID's pretty much NEED projectors to be effective, so no...those lenses would not work.

Looks like there is a market for them ... maybe there are somthing out there? If not maybe something should be designed ... I guess I'll have to get that Physics Doctorate after all ... LMAO ... So the Nighthawks are a good Halogen? Clearvision, Nightvision, Weathervision .... Easy as pop in the new one take out the old one??

Untrue, but the point is still gotten across.

D2S = projector HID (ie, S2000)
D2R = reflector HID (ie, IS300)

But even with D2R's in that, it's still not designed for HID, so it wouldn't work anyways.

It's not just the housing. The TYC one-piece hid retrofit comes with D2S bubls, housings, ballasts, wiring harnesses, and a new wiper fluid resivoir that you can bolt the driver's side ballast to.

I don't own a civic though ..... the Del Sol lights are way differnt then the Civic ones and I don't think I'll be doing a frontend conversion just for some brighter lights ..... Unless I am mistaken ?!
