Default slow oil leak between head and block? what could cause this?

i doubt this is a headgasket problem due to my oil/collant not being mixed. this is a slow leak but i would rather fix it then have it.

so where could it be comming from?

any suggestions/ideas appreciated.

sorry for the bad pic.

that is the highest spot i could find, where the head meets the block.

it seems to be comming from right where the letters that tell you what pistons you have (BBBB all B in my case)

Try to disassemble the upper timing cover and look there if any of cam seals is giving up. They do often and the oil is slowly leaking down the head and appears in the spot you made picture of.

Those seals are just metal-rubber orings. Buy new ones or reuse old with hondabond on the outer edge. Take care they don't extrude into the head.

everyone has that leak...and yeah when you change the cam gear seal be sure that the inner seal with a tiny spring around it goes all the way around the end of the cam...if it doesnt your leak will be worse

Yea, what he said. When the cam seals/caps leak, that is where the oil comes out from behind the timing covers.

my next step will be to replace those seals when i get some free time. the leak is small so i'll just monitor my oil level .

thanks to all, can anyone recommend a good company for the aftermarket cam seals?

and would it only be one cam seal or should i just change both since i am taking the timing belt off anyway?

Do it once do it right... Buy two of them. They're below 5 bucks each.

i've replaced them once before because of a leak about 2 months ago. i am surprised they still leak now.

do they make aftermarket aluminum ones like this from paddwordjdm.com:

correct me if i'm wrong but these go on the side near the distributer, not the cam gears correct? so do they make ones for the cam gear side that are stronger then factory ones?

i've never seen after market ones for that side. just go to honda and get some new ones that would be the best place to get any seal or gasket. i've had too many problems with the seals and such at napa, checker, autozone etc.
