I hear about these tires alot,how good are they?they seem famous,are they expensive?who makes them? sorry im posting here but as you all know,the tire forum is dead

 

Falken makes them.

I don't know about famous per-se but they're well known I suppose.

They're pretty good, you get what you pay for with them.

They're not exactly the best "drag racing" tires because the sidewalls are too stiff. They're better known for being good for road racing. I set the old style they're ok, there's better tires out there in my opinion.

 

are they good for street use?comfortable?what were they made for anyways?auto x?

 

they burn up quickly for daily driving IMO. look at the treadwear

True dat, they're nice for daily drivers. Personally I'm running bridgestones, but whatever, lots of good tires out there.

I've heard that before but haven't really been through 'em from new to worn so I couldn't say for sure...

 

I have had a few sets. They are comfortable and great if you doing alot of canyons like I use to do or like pushing your car through corners and etc. As far as drag racing there not to bad I never had any complaints

 

Gee, I wish there was some site out there that had lots of tires for sale, independantly reviewed them, and let their customer's post reviews as well......

I've had my RT615's for almost a year now and they have been great to date! You'll have to rotate them frequently to get the best tread wear usage out of them (every 3K) I will however say that they are now starting to get a little noisy on the Freeway. Paid $100 per tire mounted and balanced (205/40/16). I wish they had them in a 205/45/16 a year ago These tires are excellent for dry weather conditions, I only use them in ideal conditions.

Which tire would you say has the following characteristics in a 0-10 scale?:
Grip 7-8
Comfort 8-9
Life 9-10 with street driving

rim size 17 inch so the tire size is 18 i guess?The other measurements idk,its for a civic hatch EG

You obviously have no ******* clue as to what the hell is going on...

1- Buy an 18" tire if you want. It won't fit.
2- You need a 205/40/17

205 = tread width in mm
40 = aspect ratio
17 = the rim size

If you don't know WTF I'm talking about, go to Sears or whatever and have them slap whatever they have on the car.

I was talking to some folks about rims and they said the limit was 17 but i wasnt sure if it was for the rims or tires,i know tire measurements,dont have to tell me.But wont you agree that new tires have good grip?then?

No.....

Take a 195/50/R15 tire.

195mm is the width of the tire's tread.

50% of 195mm (around 97mm) is the height of the sidewall.

15" is the diameter of the wheel.

So, your height would be 15" + 97mm = 18.8"

so do you know tire sizes or not?

 

i dont know the relationship between the tire and rim size thats all.Whats the civic's hb stock tire size anyways?something like 190/50/14?
