what's good compression for an ls?
I just did a compression test on my 95 with a little over 100k and with 6 strokes each one came up to 165 to 170 psi. Is that good? or is it time to do a rebuild? I've almost got my head completely built, so should I wait and build the block before I put it on? thanks
165-170 is pretty good for a LS engine............. but if you want the most out of it you should replace those LS pistons for some higher compression pistons and new rings.
you should have the engine block removed and have it bored and honed and install over-sized pistons.

I've heard the b16 pistons are a pretty cheap way to get compression up? I've got some big cams, what would I need if I wanted to get to 11:1 or 11.5:1? when you say overbored you mean like the bigger type r pistons? I was thinking of getting a used block so I wouldn't have any down time.
