No real difference except how the rear struts attach to the control arm. the control arm can be switched out, too.
There is one other difference. The length of the arm that adjusts toe in the rear. On the 88 it's shorter, causing more passive steering and thus more lift throttle oversteer.

actually its the position of the mount ont the chassis to adjust the toe...

Hmm I knew somthing there was different but I wasen't sure the result of it. Is this something i should be worried about or can fix?

Besides the rear lower control arms and rear struts being slightly different, the rest of the suspension is the same.
88 model SI's made 105hp, but they were also lighter than newer years too.
