cable not so sure need some help

cable not so sure need some help
i dont really know that much about cable trannys, or automatic cable trannys i have a 93 automatic da and the shift cable came out of the tranny. for anyone who knows what it looks like there is a pin that goes throught the cable and it snapped so i got a new one but cant get to it to put it back on do i need to take the tranny offf to do this?
