I have done a thorough research of this topic for about 3 days and have come up short.

I want to know what brands and parts are Smog legal in California. I live in the Bay Area, Eastbay and I have heard about cars getting cited for illegal parts.

I know for a fact that AEM parts are legal and RS*R Exmag is also smog legal. I am sure there are others but I am not 100% sure.

IF you folks could just throw me a couple of parts or brands that are 100% smog legal that would be great. I am looking for 96-98,99-00 Civic, 96-97 Accord. Or just a general selection would be fine.

I am not sure if all parts from a specific brand are all legal or just some parts. Maybe someone could help me out. Thanks.

 

What you need to be legal is parts with a C.A.R.B. (California air resources board) sticker.

That is the complete list and you will notice you will have to scroll down and look at each. They don't make it easy.

 

Technically, any exhaust is "legal" as long as it complies with sound regulations since it doesn't affect emissions. For everything else, you need a CARB EO #.
