Default Big Problem, Car Won't Shift At 4k RPM's

I was wondering as i was doing my search if anyone has came across a problem that i seem to be having. I have a 2000 Accord EX 4dr auto that i've owned since last febuary. recently i've gotten out the shop where i had the headgasket replaced with a new one, a different cylinder head that was from the machine shop they use ( since they said my old one might of been warped and at the time i did'nt have the money to have it checked ), New timing belt, and water pump. After i got it out they told me my MAP and knock sensor was going bad so i replaced the map sensor, im still waiting for the knock sensor to come in and i gave it a tune up ( new spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, spark plug wires, ect ). Now here's where my problem comes in, after running my car for about 10 minutes once my car hits 4k rpm's it stutters like it's redlining. It does it in every gear weather it's 1-3 ( Have'nt been up to 4k rpm's in 4th yet ). It will shift into the next gear fine below 4k but not 4k exact or above. I have'nt gotten the car fully checked out yet cause of money issues so thats why im looking to different to you guys for any clues i could pick up. Oh yea and also the car idles horribly after it warms up, it'll slowly drop from about 750 till the point where it'll shake and cut off or just shake. One mechanic i've spoken to said it could be a number of things ranging in the hundreds to repair. I've been all over the forums so far but im not sure what this problem could pertain to, it's just weird. Any ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanx in advance.

Yea there is a check engine light on but i had it checked and it was for the knock sensor, im still waiting for that to come in. And it happens anytime my car tries to reach 4k rpm's in any gear wether i floor it or not. Only reason i have'nt taken my car back to the guy who worked on it is cause he lives about an hour away and i dont really want my car away for to long when i need it to get around for the time being. Any clues?

It is very likely that the lack of a knock sensor is putting the ECU in rev limit mode (a type of fail safe) and retarding the timing not allowing the good HP to over do the motorin case of higher RPM detonation, spark knock or pre ignition, FACT, a bad knock sensor will retard timing but I wont swear this is your problem.
