Default help about fixing paint on rims.

alright so i painted my gsr's . . .

however, i rushed to mount them because i was excited. by doing so, i scratched some of the rims. dumb, yes, so i am planning to take them off and fix them. what should i do?

i sprayed them with duplicolor chrome and clear coat. should i just sand them down and spray some more chrome on top of the imperfections and clear them again? that sounds like the obvious route, but i just wanted to make sure. i don't know if clearcoat is sandable.

Is the scratch all the way into the base coat? If not, gently wet sand till it comes out. Also, you should have removed the weight and then had it rebalanced. Now you have to repaint when you get new tires or you'll have one big nasty spot

yea, it's only a little smudge that looks nasty.

-does it make a difference whether i wet or dry sand?

i'm guessing the wheel weight is the thing that's on the perimeter of the rim. i'm not too familiar with that terminology. i don't know what rebalancing is either. i might polish my rims if i ever get new tires so it works out?

wet sand so you won't take off too much paint. warm water + dish soap + high grit wet sand paper/block.

use either 1000 or 1200. and just keep an eye on it so you don't go completley through the clear.
