Default sway bar questions

what do you guys think about sway bars? how is the improvement on cornering? i was looking mostly at suspention technique because i heard they are a good brand and usually around 300-350 for front and rear set. there is an option that says "with original front bar" and "without original front bar" what is the front bar that they are talking about? anyone know? also if you guys recommend another brand of sways let me know please

1) Improvement is great.
2) Front sway bar.
3) Look at the oem itr rear sway bar. Cheap and a perfect fit and its 22-23mm so its perfect for a DD.

ALSO: If you have an EK, you will need to reinforce the ASR subframe reinforcement to prevent tear-out.

if your model came with a front sway......then it already has the mounts for one... if not then you have to get the one with the weird attachments... the non equipped models don't have the mounting points... there's a write up for it on the old hybrid site.

if you have a vx like i do..i opted to grab the front arms off a integra....and i got the stock integra front sway... and the rear off the type r...

goodtimes.

ITR 23mm sway bar will fit your EG. I highly recommend using a subframe brace like ASR. You can get the 23mm sway bar with bushings for $100 from http://www.jdmland.com

true about that subframe brace i heard without it it tears very easily because its very thin. about the itr sway bars does it only to be 23mm from any dc series or only from a certain one? ex. dc2, dc5?

23mm only came on the itr/ctr. Or you can but a 99-00 si 13(?)mm one.

the 98 spec itr 23mm sway bar offers a optional beak kit or do you recommend the asr subframe reinforcement?

Heard bad things about Beaks on EK's, but on an EG I think the beaks kit is fine.

I put a 99-00 Si 13mm rear swaybar in my 00 civic. It's the smallest swaybar out there but i could instantly notice a nice difference. I wish i bought a kit with a bigger swaybar, but the 13mm is ok just to have fun with.

well... the beaks kit is an additional $80 bucks and the asr subframe reinforcement is about $180 for an eg would it be worth it to spend the extra money on the asr reinforcement or would the beaks kit be more then enough?

For the EG chassis, the Beaks kit is sufficient, however with the EK chassis, the ASR brace is recommended for anything over 13mm. You can get ASR either way for the added bling.

i was going with the same question type when i was looking for a camber kit...a ebay special would have "sufficed" but would i trust my car's integrity to an inferior design quality? immagine i save 100$ now, but next year, it fails, and i essentially ruin my car completely.... was it worth it? no. i went with skunk2 pro series for piece of mind.

im buying a 3/4" rear/ 1" front sway kit for my EG over the winter...and i was deciding on a beaks or a ASR...and then i decided that ripping the subframe out would mean curtains for my car....i'd rather spend 100$ more now, and save my chassis from being rendered useless.

quality parts retain alot of their re-sale value aswell, quality is quality is quality, everyone knows what quality is and they will always seek it (the smart ones at least) therefore if you smash your car, you will end up with more salvagable parts then you may expect.

just think about it....is it REALLY worth saving a negligable amount of money.
is this hobby REALLY the one i want, if im not ready to spend a little more to be on the safe side and have everything i worked for destroyed by saving 100$...

yes; there are no provisions on your current dx lcas to mount endlinks.

if you chose to get new oem rear lcas, get them for either a 92-95 civic ex 4 door with abs, or any DC2 integra except the type-r.

front or rear lcas?

if its off a 94 and been totalled chances are there are bent susp parts. better off buying new control arms; its not that much more.

the front end is smashed up so the front lca's might not be good but the rear might be alright also what do you think about a 23mm rear sway off of an itr and suspention technique 25mm front sway for a more neutral effect
