Default need some help asap koni install

im in the middle of my koni/GC install and i needed to know if intstead of drilling the OEM bump stocks out to 12mm (to fit over the bump on the konis) if i could just leave them and force them over it? i got one bumpstop over it already, no problems etc it slides up and down (under that bump on the konis). is this bad?? or should it be able to move up over the bump. I personally cant see why it would need to the washer and the top hat sit over the bump and use it as a place to mount right?? i just wanna make sure im not gonna ruin my shocks

Drilled or not, it doesn't really matter. As you said, the washer above will keep it on anyway. Besides, if your car bottoms out thus requiring the use of the bumpstops, there'll be enough weight from the car to force the bumpstops up. So, long story short, don't worry about it, though I DID drill mine out.

I didn't drill mine out and they slid in quite easily.

You are not supposed to drill out the bump rubber, just slide it onto the shock rod. If it resists going over the welded ring on the rod, just grip the bump rubber and twist it slightly while pushing it down over the ring. I have done so many installs of Konis on Hondas and never thought of drilling out the bump rubbers. It simply isn't needed, the smaller ID of the foam bump rubber stretches over the rod and holds te bump rubber in place.

The only thing that you are supposed to drill out is the top of the dust cover. Your stock shock rod is 12mm on the working part of the rod where the bump rubber lives once installed just like the Konis. Only the top of the upper pin on the Koni was increased from 10mm to 12mm.
