I go to the gym and have a good workout. I go back to my car and find that someone had pulled the spoiler off my car. They had pulled on it until the bolts came through the sheet metal and in the process dented the hell out of the trunk lid. Second $500 deductable I've had shell out because of vadals/theives.

 

******* theives...and they did it in broad daylight...you're lucky that you still have the car.

 

That happened to #009 a while back, too. Get ready for a nasty bill. My estimate was about $2400 all told. New hatch, spoiler, paint, rent car etc...

I blame my two incidents I've suffered on a lack of a shock sensor with the stock "alarm".

F the stock alarm, i know someone who has a Viper alarm with the 100 dollar Proximity sensor. Has paid for itself 1,000 times over. Woulda helped ya out bro. Consider it!

Everyone should set their comprehensive deductible to $0; it usually only raises the cost of insurance by $100 or so, and is usually well worth it, especially with a car that attracts a lot of attention.

 

i have proximity sensor, but i dont think it works will !! coz in order to have the sensor sense all the way to the back of your car the range is gonna be too big !! even when someone walk by it will beep, sometimes gets annonying. so i've set the sensor only beep when someone is really close to my car. but this way it's not gonna cover the back and the front !~~.

 

i lowered mine to $100...$6 a month extra, and the best investment i've ever made...no i don't make many investments

That sucks -- and is lame. It's not like it's hard or even expensive to get a wing like that.

Could have been worse though -- last time I was at the dealer, they had a 98 ITR there that had the wing stolen and the rear glass shattered in the process (I'm not sure I believe that torquing off the wing could cause that, but they broke it one way or the other).
