number one clyinder not firing??????
i have a jdm b16a1 and we took out my dizzy to see if my friends icm was faulty. i put marks all over the dizzy so that when i went to put it back in it would be lined up. i put it back in hooked it up and started my car and it was firing wierd. i took off the plug wire to the numbeer one cylinder and it runs exactly the same but when i took of any of the other wires the engine almost dies. the header tube coming off cylinder one is 1/4 as hot as the rest of the tubes. i took the dizzy back apart lined everything back up. i moved the engine to top dead center and hooked it all back up, and the same problem. i was wondering what could it be, is there anyway that maybe the grease from my hands when i opened it up got on something and it is not allowing the number one cylinder to fire or is it something else. i am experiencing a serious lack of power but i cant find anything wrong.
first you have to type in english, then try saying distributor, not "dizzy". I know it's five letters more that you have to type, but it makes you sound less like a caveman.
Is cylinder one getting fuel? I would check to see if that injector is firing, then I would go after an ignition problem.
