Fresh Air
I have had 4 Different Honda Accords 88,91,93, and currently 95. When ever I switch the air to fresh air I get a bad smell in the car. I called honda and they told me that I can spray some type of Oder killer in the vent to fix this problem. It works for about an hour, but then slowley the smell comes back. They said the newer cars have a filter that can be replaced to fix this problem. Does anyone know a way of getting the car to smell better?
sounds like you have a problem with mold in your car. When you put the car to recirculate you tend to build up moisture in the AC components in the interior to the car and that is probably what you are smelling. I would recomend that you go ahead and drive around with the fresh air system on for a while and see if you can find some stuff that kills mold and spray it in the same area you sprayed the other stuff. Typically they will warn you about the recirculate feature and say to let the system run on fresh air for about 5 minutes before shutting off the car at the end of the day or this can develop
Thats good info to know, I run into this problem when running A/C the night before then coming back out the next day to get a smell sometimes then I turn it to fresh air. I didnt think the '90-'93s had such a cabin filter or do they?
