Sanding/Primering hood...
Well I'm prepping my girl's hood before taking it in for paint. I had a few questions. I first planned on stripping the majority of the paint with Aircraft Paint Remover, then sanding it with some wet/dry sandpaper. Then I was going to simply primer it and be done with it. I was just wondering what type of primer you guys would recommend for a hood. I didn't know if I needed hi-temp or anything due to the hood getting slightly warmer than most body panels while the car is running. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my first time prepping anything for paint. Thanks in advance
I would recommend a high-build epoxi primer. It tends to fill up any low-spots that you may have and any minor scratches that you might get when sanding. I've used it before and it turned out pretty good...Here is pic. Its not really the best, but kida gives you an idea...It sort of lays down "thicker" than most other primers. I like it.

If your spraying over bare metal you need to use some type of self etching primer. Then ontop of that (no sanding needed) you can just spray some high build like the other guy stated. There is no need to use high temp paint. .
