Default Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R questions

Well, i came across a good deal on a 1998 Ninja ZX6 and what Im looking for is personal experiences or even input.

This would be my first bike to learn on. Im only 5'8 150 pounds. Is that a problem? I cant seem to find many people on here who own one. Thanks!

'98 ZX6? Decent bike - almost as good as the F3. As long as you can get one foot down, you can practice the one-cheek-sneak.

MSF. Insurance. Gear.

Hows the riding position? Aggressive? At first I wanted to look for a CBR f4i because of the more upright position (bad back), but I came across this deal....
Also wondering how easy it is to handle for a newbie like me.

I really just want to know first hand experiences such as.......do you love the bike? lol

Its actually a 1999 with 30k miles.

Thanks

Bad back? A sportbike will not make it any better. Just how bad is your back?

well i don't have a bad back, and let me tell you, i wouldn't do long trips in terms of comfort levels (relative to tolerance for shorter trips). Well I do like it everytime I see someone else on my bike that rides by when I'm cagin in. When I'm riding it, it's whatevers, I'm not very aggressive with my bike, i'm still a squid and will be for a very long time. I don't ride much, about 1-2 times a week (like you plan to), and my trips are like 30 miles each time I ride (10 to and 10 from work). What I REALLY want to do and WILL do one day is sell this bike and get a white 06+ gixxer. I've been wanting one since the day they came out but it's just too expensive. I'm waiting for the price to drop.

my 2002 zx-6r was very easy to learn on and comfortable for a sport bike. went from that to a 2003 636 and the riding position is a lot more aggressive and not as comfortable, but didn't bother me too bad.

Well be careful about your first bike's make cuz you'll be attached to that brand for life hahaha. It happens to everyone, they get a honda for their first bike and they keep buying hondas, get a yamaha they keep buying yamahas. Its a viscous cycle.

A 98 zx6r and 03 zx6r don't have $hit in common besides a name. A 98 zx6r is a good bike to learn on regarding pretty much every catagory. With 30k miles, just make sure it's in good shape and doesn't need 600-800$ in work. My bike is an 01 that turned 30k last week. I'd ride it to alaska and back if I felt like it without worry. However, I know what maint. a bike needs and you may not. Make sure the chain/sprockets/tires etc. are in good shape.
