I have had nothing but good things to say about Meguiar's. I haven't really heard anthing about Mother's but good things. But I have never used them either, so I cannot say for sure.

But Meguiar's gets my vote.

I love Meguiars. All of their products rock IMO and they are all I use on my cars. I got the Meg's kit for $9.99 at Oriley...

The kits come with a spary to keep the surface lubricated while you move the clay across. The Meg's comes with their quick detailer spray. There is more than enough. If you need a make shift spray (you lost yours, your box didn't have it, you drop it whatever the issue) jst get some clean water with a few drops of car wash in a spray bottle.

Clay Magic own's the patent for the clay bar, so regardless of which you buy, they clay will be the same. the only difference will be the detial spray that comes with it.

the best way to do it is right after you have washed your car. leave it wet and start claying it then spray it off. Use your hands to see if you can feel it becoming smooth again. After that though it might leave very fine scratches if it was used incorrectly so you might want to polish it with a buffer or do a really good wax.

your supposed to use the detail spray to lubricate it so the clay can go smoothly over the paint, don't think you need to leave it wet. defeats the whole purpose of the detail spray they include.

I have used both Meguiars and Mothers clay products. Both are good, so it does not really matter

i leave it wet so i dont have to use detailing spray. But i use the proffesional stuff instead of the meguires it might be different. all in all its the same stuff. Water is doing the same purpose as the spray its just a lubricant so you dont scratch the **** out of your paint.

Here is my thread on a clay bar system... I loved it. First time I have ever actually used the Mother's kit. Check it out for some tips.
