idle problem on a dohc zc please help?
i swapped a dohc zc into my 88 dx hatch everything runs great except the screw for the idle I turn it down because my engine revs up to 2k then dies down to 800. So i turned down my idle and it works great except the screw is loose because it unscrew right back and revs high then dies how do i fix this problem.
Any CELs? You're not supposed to just go in and start adjusting the idle screw, you need to adjust it in accordance with the procedure in your repair manual. If you don't have one, get one. Otherwise:
1.) Warm car to op. temp and unplug EACV
2.) Note idle speed, should be ~750RPM, if not adjust w/ idle screw.
3.) Plug EACV back in, should make a sucking noise
4.) Shut car off, reset ECU
5.) Repeat checks with high beams, defroster and heater on HI
6.) Adjust if neccessary
If this fails to fix it, either: 1) Your EACV is dirty (clean it!), 2) Your EACV is faulty (replace it!), or 3) You have a vaccuum leak somewhere.

ok if thier is no fitv then take off ur intake and when u start it put ur finger on the lower hole, and if their is vacuum then thier lays ur problem, block it off, also if u have ur finger on the bottome hole block off the top and if ur car stals then ur iacv is still good

as stated by wiZCco, the DOHC ZC doesn't have a FITV and because it doesn't, the intake manifold doesn't have a lower hole - just one for the EACV
