Default 94 Tune-up

So as my prelude hit 140k this week i took it in my local mechanic (not a honda dealership) for a TB change, it was something like 280 for 4 hours of labor and then the cost of the belt. (Honda quoted me at 500 just for labor)

So i take it in and decide to also have my valve and cam seals replaced. Well i get a call from the mechanic a day later and he says the TB has worn down the housing and theres something wrong with the crankcase seal or crankhousing. I'm then told to wait another day after that because the guy shipping the part forget to take the crankcase housing or TB housing, can't remember, off.

I'm not worried about costs of fixing it, i just want to run this bitch as my dd for atleast 60k+ more miles.

One thing that i am concerned about it i have a rattling can sound underneath my car, around my cat converter. I asked the mechanic to look at it, but i dont know. Ive got underneath the prelude and watched the cat when i accelerate and it vibrates at a high rate. Could it be rusted downpipe? Disconnected CC? Rusted exhaust pipes?

There is a bracket where the header bolts to the back of the engine block right below the oil filter. These often break and cause a loud metal vibrating noise which is probably what you're hearing....if not, check the exhaust heat shields.

it is either the heat sheild or the Bracket.... if the header is a DC cc, there is a good chance that the bracket snapped... no worries though, its not important.....
