Gear Lever Movement - Not Shifter Bushes
Hi, Im just trying to find out where the movement of my gear lever is coming from.
It moves left to right by about 1cm, its not major and ive used a lot worse. I changed the shifter bushes for new ones and it hasnt made any difference. Im just curious now as to where the movement is likely to be coming from?

Even with urethane bushings, I still have the same movement you have and absolutely hate it. I too would like to know where its coming from. From what I understand B&M make a solid aluminum bushing which would probably do nothing if the movement doesnt come from that area, but well worth a shot.
my friend's itr does this as well. it's only to the left though, and it's a bit more than 1 cm. so if you have it in neutral position you have to push it way far to the left then up to get it into first. while it's in 1st or 2nd also, it has a ton of slop left or right. a honda mechanic friend of his told him it's not in the bushings, but something broken inside the actual transmission.
There is a little movement even while stock if I remember correctly. I'll check next time i'm in the car. I'm running ES shifter bushing.
