Default B20 with high compression pistons

What do you about putting a B20 with high compression pistons in a EK civic hatch.
I found out that with a compression of about 10.8 or 11.0 it will do around 220hp

if you anybody has any info on this swap could you please fill me in. I am looking to make my decision this week and just want to make sure I make the right one.

Yeah...it's possible, but you'll also need a VTEC head and a built bottom end...maybe cams and new valvetrain too...

Just taking a b20 and adding high comp. pistons isn't going to give you that amount of power

10's on the compression is still low. We do 12:1 on our B20 blocks.
Pushing out average of 180's HP on just upgraded pistons... everything else stock.
with headers, cams, and tuning, that would get up in the 200 easily.

I was just talking to a friend and he said those engines are not very reliable with that much compression. Have you had any realiablilty problems and what would be the best possible compression to run????

It will be my daily driver as well.

YOu can go lower to be on the safer side.. like 11.5:1 or 11:1

THe B20s we build are all daily driven... NO one has said anything back to us after their installs. Our own personal B20/V is daily driven 12:1. its been doign good.. it doesnt race much, just work, school, clubs, and back.

Thanks i talked to the guy in Montreal and he said that i can he will do 11.1:1 and i should be safe. I am only worried cause i do drive auto-x once in a while and i have fun at the 1/4 mile strip. I don't want to spend all this money and the blow the engine casue the crank was to week for the power.

Also what is i run nos cause i have a 60 shot...it might not be a good idea to run it with that enigne.

even if you could get me some info from your store on cost etc. that would be great and mybe i will look at what you guys can offer me

thanks for the help

Ian
