Quick question about timing belt
Like i have asked before, i m gonna drop in some SK2 pro 1 cam with the valve spring, ti retainers and so on, i m thinking maybe while i m at it, i should change my timiing belt too, but should i just stick with a new oem one or should i go after market like greddy or toda or so on...thx
Greddy, PE/TODA belts are stronger than OEM belts, and take some of the worry out of proper tensioning procedures. There are some people who can run 9,500rpm's on OE belts with large cams, and there are some who will shred a new OE belt every 10k miles.
I've been using a Greddy belt for the last 10k and it has worked great. Many many passes above 9,000 and still has the same tension as when I set it last.

you don't really want to find out in this particular way....
you should do preventive maintenance, inspect it often and accelerate you timing belt replacement if you are running large cams with any timing belt
