when i start the car (89 lxi), theres a horrible screech, but goes away after a couple a seconds...no big deal.

now that its fkin freezing out, i turn the heat on, it starts screeching again, stops. then it also does it when i downshift.

anyone know what belt this could be. the guy i bought it from had most of um just recently changed. also, anyone know what this would run to fix?

 

had the same problem mine was the belt that goes around the compressor and alternator, but it was a bolt that broke at the bottom of the alternator... so make sure everything is tight then look at replacing the belt
